Hazard, KY, April 26, 2017 — Whitesburg ARH Hospital and Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center have been awarded the Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing by Hurst Review Services, one of the largest providers of nursing analytics in the nation. This award is given to healthcare facilities nationally who have achieved the highest level of nursing care.

The quality indicators used to define the Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing include patients’ perceptions of nursing clinical skills, communication skills, prompt responsiveness to needs, friendliness and courtesy, and attitudes and attention paid to special or personal requests.
Hospital nursing staffs that achieve the highest ratings in the nursing-specific quality indicators are presented with the Hurst Gold Standard of Nursing Award. The award acknowledges contributions to excellence in healthcare, and the seal represents a sign of assurance for patients and their families of the gold-standard nursing care they can expect at a Hurst-recognized facility.
