The ARH Allied Health Training Academy (AHTA) is a collaborative workforce development initiative between Appalachian Regional Healthcare and Hazard Community and Technical College designed to create accessible pathways into high demand healthcare careers across Eastern Kentucky. The Academy offers three training programs: a one year Practical Nursing (PN) program, a one-year Medical Assistant (MA) program, and an 8-to-12-week Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program.

A Focus on Careers in the Community

Focused on serving the region’s primary workforce population ages 25 to 54, the Academy helps individuals gain the education, skills, and support needed to enter or advance within the healthcare field. By combining quality instruction from HCTC with career exploration, professional development, and employment connections through ARH, the Allied Health Training Academy is helping build a stronger healthcare workforce while creating opportunities for economic mobility throughout Eastern Kentucky.
