Residents will be offered opportunities to participate in Research activities at local, regional, & national meetings throughout their training and journal publications.  If a paper or presentation is accepted at a conference, the primary author (resident) will be offered an opportunity to attend and present.  ARH will reimburse residents for reasonable costs and expenses (publications, poster, registration, hotel and travel) up to a total of $2500 per academic year. The $2,500 benefit shall not be carried over into subsequent years.  In cases where a resident may begin mid-year, the benefit would be pro-rated. Only those expenses relating directly to the research will be reimbursed. A request for reimbursement must be submitted within 30 days of the research conference, and must be accompanied by itemized receipts for all expenses. Requests for reimbursement should be submitted to the Program Coordinator for processing. The Research Coordinator and the Program Director must approve all such travel and education in advance.  If you are on Internal Medicine floor rotation, you are required to work with the Chief Resident to find coverage in your absence. Should you be scheduled for clinic during the conference a co-resident must be identified to see the patients in the resident’s absence.
